BetweenStates

I design interiors, installations and objects that hold the moment between one state and another — private and public, physical and digital, inside and out.

something of you.

02 / Film

Bothie
Shelter.

A winter room for extreme cold, walked through at dusk. A 2:20 project film, cut with the project drawings and stills.

03 / Practice

I start with
observation.

How does a room ask you to behave? Where do you pause, what do you hide, and what does the space let you become? I build spatial arguments around those questions — through drawing, model-making and narrative.

I am Sylvia (Wang Yutianran), a spatial designer from HBU–UCLan’s School of Media and Creative Industries.

About the practice
Design is not only the object in the room. It is the room’s permission to behave differently.
