Profile

I am Wang Yutianran (Sylvia), a spatial designer studying Interior Design at HBU–UCLan’s School of Media and Creative Industries. My work moves between interior design, public installation and furniture.

I am interested in the quiet rules that shape behaviour — the width of a passage, the height of a bench, the direction a display asks you to face — and in designing spaces that give people room to switch roles.

My practice starts with research. I use observation, spatial mapping, model-making and narrative sequencing to understand how a place asks people to behave, then to build a spatial argument around it. Alongside design, I run a short-video account and a small online store, which has taught me how to edit, write and read an audience.
